Description

The Panasonic AW-RP505E Multi-Hybrid Control Panel is a professional broadcast camera controller designed for Panasonic studio/convertible camera systems and pan/tilt heads. Used together with the AW-HB505 Multi-port Hub, it can control up to five camera and pan/tilt-head systems. The controller provides camera setup and image-control functions as well as pan/tilt, zoom and focus operation.

The hybrid architecture carries camera control, video and genlock signals between the controller, multi-port hub and camera system using coaxial connections and a 10BASE-T UTP Category 5 straight cable. Panasonic specifies up to 10 m between the controller and hub and up to 500 m between the hub and camera/pan-tilt head when the specified cabling is used.

Compatibility

The AW-RP505E belongs to Panasonic’s older AW-series broadcast camera-control ecosystem. It is intended to operate with compatible Panasonic cameras and pan/tilt systems through the AW-HB505 multi-port hub. The original documentation lists systems such as Panasonic 3CCD convertible cameras and AW-PH series pan/tilt heads.

Important: this is a legacy professional video controller and is not the later IP-based AW-RP50 controller. The AW-RP505E uses the older hybrid camera-control architecture described above.
