Description
The NXP TJA1052IT/2 is a high-speed CAN transceiver serving as an interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. This device is a successor to the TJA1050 and offers improvements in electromagnetic compatibility and system-level diagnostics while maintaining full compatibility with the ISO 11898-2 standard.
It is fully ISO 11898-2 compliant and supports data rates up to 1 Mbit/s. The device features a low-current Standby mode with remote and local wake-up capability. Its design provides low electromagnetic emissions and high immunity to electromagnetic interference. The CAN bus pins are protected against electrostatic discharge up to plus or minus 8 kV per the Human Body Model.
The device includes thermal shutdown protection, undervoltage detection on the VCC supply pin, and a TXD dominant time-out safeguard. It presents a high-impedance state to the CAN bus when unpowered. The interface logic is compatible with 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. It operates from a single 5V supply.
This transceiver is qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1, with an operating temperature range from minus 40 degrees Celsius to plus 125 degrees Celsius. It is supplied in an SO8 package.
Target applications include automotive body and comfort electronics, in-vehicle networking such as gateways and diagnostic interfaces, and industrial automation systems.
