Description
The NXP TJA1049T is a high-speed CAN FD transceiver providing an interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. It is compliant with ISO 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284-1 to SAE J2284-4 standards. This device supports data rates up to 5 Mbit/s in the data phase of CAN FD frames.
It features three operating modes: Normal, Standby, and Sleep for minimal power consumption. The transceiver includes remote wake-up capability via the CAN bus and an INH output pin to control an external voltage regulator. It presents a high-impedance state to the CAN bus when unpowered. The bus pins offer ESD robustness of ±8 kV HBM. This device is AEC-Q100 qualified and designed for 12V and 24V automotive systems.
Two variants are available: the TJA1049T/0 in an SO-8 package with a WAKE pin, and the TJA1049T/1 in an SO-8 package with both WAKE and EN pins. Target applications include automotive gateways, body control modules, powertrain systems, chassis control, diagnostic interfaces, and industrial automation networks.
