Description
The Melexis MLX91216LDC-ACV is an automotive Hall effect current sensor IC. It uses IMC-Hall technology for current sensing in automotive and industrial power systems. The device is housed in an SO8 package.
This monolithic sensor provides a programmable analog ratiometric output. It allows configuration of sensitivity from ±20 to ±350 mV/mT, offset, filtering, and clamping levels. The measurement range is up to 90 mT. It features a wide bandwidth from DC to 250 kHz and a fast 2 µs response time. Linearity is ±0.2% of full scale. Thermal drift includes an offset drift below 5 mV and a sensitivity drift under 1%. Diagnostic features include broken wire detection. The sensor meets AEC-Q100 Grade 0 qualification for operation from –40 °C to +150 °C. It is RoHS compliant.
Typical applications include high-voltage traction motor inverters for EV and HEV, 48 V boost recuperation inverters, DC/DC converters, on-board chargers, smart battery junction boxes, and smart fuse overcurrent detection systems. The sensor is designed for use with a laminated U-shaped magnetic shield for compact bus bar mounting. The integrated magnetic concentrator enables high bandwidth and sensitivity with reduced weight and PCB-based assembly.
Part number MLX91216LDC-ACV. Manufacturer Melexis.
