Description
The Microchip dsPIC33CK256MP508T-E/PTVAO is a 16-bit Digital Signal Controller with 256 KB Flash memory. It is packaged in a 100-pin LQFP. This device integrates motor control peripherals and advanced DSP capabilities for real-time control applications.
It operates from 3.0 V to 3.6 V and delivers up to 100 MIPS performance. The core features a 40-bit wide accumulator, single-cycle MAC and multiply operations, and zero-overhead looping. Integrated clock management includes an internal oscillator, PLLs, and fail-safe monitoring.
The high-resolution PWM module provides up to 8 PWM pairs with 250 ps resolution. It supports motor control strategies for BLDC, PMSM, ACIM, and SRM motors, as well as power conversion topologies including DC/DC, AC/DC, PFC, and inverters. It includes dedicated dead-time control and flexible ADC triggering.
The analog subsystem has a high-speed 12-bit ADC with three SAR cores, achieving up to 3.5 Msps per channel across 24 analog inputs. It also includes four digital comparators, three op amps, and three 12-bit DACs.
Communication interfaces include three UARTs with LIN 2.2 support, three SPI or I²S modules, three I²C interfaces with SMBus, CAN FD, two SENT modules, and a Parallel Master Port. It features four DMA channels and a CRC engine. Pin mapping is configurable through PPS.
Debug and safety features include a watchdog timer, ECC, Deadman Timer, clock monitoring, JTAG, and Class B library support. This device is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified for operation from -40 °C to +125 °C.
Typical applications are automotive motor control, industrial drives, digital power conversion, renewable energy systems, battery management, and high-precision sensing.
