The onsemi FAN3224TUM1X-F085 is a dual 4 A low-side MOSFET driver for automotive and industrial applications. This device is supplied in an 8-SOIC-EP package and is part of the FAN3223–25 family. It is optimized for driving N-channel enhancement-mode MOSFETs in low-side configurations.
The FAN3224 contains two non-inverting drivers with matched propagation delays for precise timing in dual-gate drive applications like synchronous rectifiers. It uses MillerDrive technology to provide strong gate drive during the Miller plateau, which minimizes switching losses. The device supports rail-to-rail voltage swing and has reverse current capability. Each channel features an independent enable pin that defaults to ON when left floating.
An under-voltage lockout function ensures the outputs remain LOW until the supply voltage is within the valid operating range. The driver has a high peak current capability of 4 A per channel and a low propagation delay, making it suitable for high-frequency power stages.
Typical applications include synchronous rectification in automotive DC-DC converters and onboard chargers for EV and HEV vehicles. It is also for power MOSFET gate driving in switch-mode power supplies, industrial motor control, power distribution systems, LED lighting, and other high-speed switching circuits.
